Eating is one of the most everyday yet most complex things we do. Beyond being a biological necessity, eating shapes how we interact with others. The shared meal, the craft of cooking and its transmission are universal practices that foster community and identity.
Bill of Fare brings together menus from restaurants dating from the 1940s to the present day. Each menu reveals more than just the food that was served. They tell us where people ate, with whom, by which rules, and at what price. A menu reflects its time and place.
