Luzie Kurth (b. 1997, Cologne) is a director and multimedia artist based in Brussels and Berlin. Drawing on archival research, historical sources and real-life stories, she develops new forms of storytelling across different formats. Food and food culture are recurring themes in her work.
She has worked as an actress since 2006 and as an assistant director on public radio productions since 2016. Her collaborations include productions with Wolf Wondratschek, Mouse on Mars and Jörg Buttgereit. Informed by her experience in radio, she treats voice and sound as integral parts of her artistic practice, making political conditions audible.
She studied Theatre and Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin, including periods of study at King’s College London and El Colegio de México. She subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Applied Human Rights at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
Her debut documentary feature, BIG FISH – Rumba Rwandaise, premiered at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris in 2024.
She is a member of ARPI, ARRF, SCAM Belgique and SACD.
